Discover: Celebrate the outdoors at San Diego's beautiful William Heise County Park where we can hike to the pond, creek, desert overlook, and meadow; star gaze with clear skies; and sleep under the trees.
Connect: Meet the rangers and an astronomer, learn why they love what they do.
Take Action: Be a Squirrel for a Day.... iow, a Squirrel Scout and help plant acorns to replace the oaks that are dying from beetles.
Food
We provide Saturday lunch and dinner, you provide the rest, keep it simple. Here's a sample menu, made with 1 pot, used twice:
Friday: have the girls bring a sack dinner
Saturday Breakfast: Yogurt, orange, muffin, sausage
Saturday Lunch and Dinner: It's on us
Sunday Breakfast: Juice, apples dipped in peanut butter, bagel
When you collect fees from your Girl Scout parents, you can include the cost of the meals. If you plan for $5/per meal, that would be $10 more, for a total fee of $45 due from parents.
Housing
This is a Tent Camping event, not an Encampment. Bring your own tent.
